Free extensions for Joomla!

I am using Joomla 2.5.7 and have at least 100 articles added every few weeks. When I add new articles/menu items, xmap doesn't update to include the new items.

Is there something that I'm missing? Do I have to disable cache or something? I have uninstalled xmap and reinstalled with no fix. Neither the html or xml sitemap updates and I can't figure out why.

Is there a limit to the number of items in the map? I am fishing for any and all help. Thanks in advance.
