You can use your Menu Manager to specify whether to show or hide your articles rating feature for a particular section or category by selecting the right parameter as shown in the picture below.

If the section/category you are looking for has not been assigned to any menu item yet, you could assign it to a new one which doesn't necessarily has to belong any of your displayed menues. You may have hidden menus, too, right?
