Xmap is a new component based on the popular Joomap component. Xmap introduces new features and also some bugs fixes.

Some of the Xmap features are:

  • Capability to create more than one sitemap with different preferences for each sitemap.
  • Generation of XML Sitemaps (For Google, Yahoo and many others search engines).
  • Cache system to allow a fastest sitemap generation. Ideally for large or high traffic sites. You can enable or disable this feature independently for each sitemap.
  • AJAX based interface (Backend only)
  • Nice presentation of the XML sitemap on browsers.
  • Compatibility with Joomla 1.5 native.
  • You can specify the priority and change frequency params for each menu.
  • You can manually exclude any item from your sitemap.
  • Support for Google News sitemap standard.
  • Many extensions available to include third party components in your sitemap.
  • XML sitemap compression support.
  • Shows some statistical information for each sitemap:
    • Las visit date.
    • Number of links generated on the last visit.
    • Number of visits.
  • Free support forum

    priority by menu

    I cannot work out how to change the xml priority's by menu as you mention is an
    option. I'm using 1.5.2

    in the sitemap component you will have a list of menus assigned to the sitemap,
    mouse over any menu and you will get options:
    up/down/delete/options.
    in the options you will get a "priority option for that menu.

    don't want to show news articles in map

    Hi, I don't want to show news articles in map just the section news. How can i
    do that?
