SectionEX extension for not listing article links correctly

Postby swanseamosque » Mon Aug 11, 2008 2:00 pm

Incorrect links displayed when using the sectionex extension 1.0 for xmap 1.2. For example,

http://www.swanseamosque.org/component/content/47-investigating-islam

Instead of the correct link, for example:

http://www.swanseamosque.org/media-clips/38-basics/47-investigating-islam

What do I need to do to sort this out?

:( Nope it still displays incorrect url with the incorrect url pointing to a "500" error page.

Try it out yourself by clicking the link (under 'web clips') on my sitemap:

Hi, which link do you mean? I clicked "web clips" and I didn't see the error!

I am having the same issue.

I am using SectionEX plugin v1.2 for xmap 1.2 and joomla 1.5.7.

I need this to resolve as soon as possible.

thanks,
Eugene

Here's a workaround for the SectionEX problem and is what I did on my site. Uninstall the SectionEX XMAP plugin. Create a new menu and place menu items on it using the standard Joomla Articles-->Section layout. Create a menu item for each section you want to display articles for in your site map. Make sure the menu items are all published. Just don't publish a module that displays the menu. Make sure you update XMAP to include this new menu. This way the users never see this menu but XMAP picks up all the links in site map. Works perfectly.

Hi, I cannot reproduce the problem described here, so I cannot find a solution, It doesn't generate wrong urls in my test environment. It would be great if someone could give me access to the backend of any affected site so I can try to figure out what the problem is!

If anyone can help me with that, please pm the login info!

Thanks!
