XHTML validation errors
Hello,
I downloaded and installed the latest version of Xmap, but I'm getting 3 XHTML validation errors such as:
Line 309, Column 77: cannot generate system identifier for general entity "sitemap"
….com/index.php?option=com_xmap&sitemap=1"> Sitemap</a></td>
I thought this was addressed in the earlier releases??
Thanks,
Ed

Re: XHTML validation errors
To clarify, I get these validation errors when I put a link on the website to the sitemap.
I'd appreciate a quick response.
Thanks,
Ed

Re: XHTML validation errors
It's been 3+ days with no response...
is there another place we can get help with this? Is this forum still moderated?
Our work on the site is on hold until we resolve the sitemap issues.
Thanks again,
Ed

Re: XHTML validation errors
I noticed the sitemap for this site
http://joomla.vargas.co.cr/sitemap
is validating fine.
How do we get a clean link like that for xmap sitemap?
this might be reason for the above validation issue.

Re: XHTML validation errors
Hi, Xmap is not generating that line of code:
….com/index.php?option=com_xmap&sitemap=1"> Sitemap</a></td>
You should take a look at the code to see where is it coming from.
….com/index.php?option=com_xmap&sitemap=1"> Sitemap</a></td>

Re: XHTML validation errors
Finally great to get a response on this, after 11 days
Actually, it IS generating that code. I took it straight out of the preferences window:
http://XXXXX.com/index.php?option=com_xmap&sitemap=1
I'm surprised that this is not an issue for anyone else? The most popular Joomla sitemap is not validating!!!

Re: XHTML validation errors
again, from my first post; specifically, the problem is this:
Line 309, Column 77: cannot generate system identifier for general entity "sitemap"

Re: XHTML validation errors
Yes, I know that's the line giving the error, but that line is probably from a menu item o something in the template, and not generated dynamically inside the body (component output). if you created a menu item using that url, then you should fix it by replacing every "&" by "&" or better yet, create a link to the component it self and not a external link menu item.
If you validate any other page in your site where that link is showed, I'm pretty sure you will get the same error in the validation.
