Installing xmap 2.2 Beta 2 without building Admin Menu
Hi,
during the last Year i used xmap J1.5 without Problems (up to Joomla 1.5.22).
After migrating my Homepage to Joomla 1.6 without a migrationtool i tried to install xmap 2.0 Beta 2.
2 messages appeared after the Installation:
Error buildung Admin Menus
Installation of the Component successfull
Under the Component Menu of the Backend Xmap dont appear.
i found the reasons.
its probably a problem of templates for joomla 1.5. After changing the php commands of index.php and template.css to joomla 1.6 use the atomic template to install xmap. later choose the 1.5 template as standard. now xmap is running as before witout problems.
best regards Ulrich

Re: Installing xmap 2.2 Beta 2 without building Admin Menu
I get the exact same install error. It leaves something, one of the old betas, that break it somehow.
On a clean 1.6.1 install, the newest xmap installs fine, but I can't get it on an existing site. Unistall says can't remove, install says can't create.
What can I delete in the sql database or ?? to clean up the old install?

Hi,
Try uninstalling Xmap and then execute this query using any SQL client:
DELETE FROM jos_menu WHERE client_id=1 AND TYPE='component' AND link='index.php?option=com_xmap';
Then install Xmap again.
Regards,
Guillermo

Hi Guillermo,
I found same problem. I have no phpmyadmin background. Please explain your suggestion below in step by step to edit --jos_menu.

I don't have a phpmyadmin available right now and I don't remember exactly the steps, but basically you just have lo find out how to execute SQL commands on the phpmyadmin and then execute the query I just provided.
