Upgraded to 1.2.11 and it all went wrong!

I was happily running 1.2.8 on my Joomla 1.5.22 site when I noticed that if I wanted to change anything in the component, the settings box opened into a lightbox effect but nothing appeared.

So I upgraded to 1.2.11 but lost any CSS/template styling. Also I could not turn off pages or sections when logged in as super admin and GWT said the xml had errors.

Eventually I removed the component completely and dropped the database tables (I'm not a php expert by the way) and re-installed 1.2.8.

It is still not working properly though and I cannot turn off pages and sections or limit what goes into the xml sitemap for Google

I don't suppose anyone has had a similar problem or know a solution?
