Creation of new sitemap fails Joomla 3.0.2

Hi, I installed version 2.3.0 of xmap into Joomla 3.0.2 and it installed without error. Then I enabled the content plugin and weblinks plugin which the Sitemap control panel was asking me to do.
When I click on "New " to create a new sitemap for my website, the following error is displayed on blank screen...
Fatal error: Class 'XmapHelper' not found in /home/tmcq77/public_html/cms/administrator/components/com_xmap/views/sitemaps/view.html.php on line 31

I am running the site under a temporary url (eg IP address instead of domain name) not sure if this is making a difference or not.

Any clues?
