Joomla 1.7 and XMAP 2.3.3

I've been given the unenviable task of finding a sitemap component for a Joomla 1.7 site running Mosets Tree. I was able to install XMAP 2.3.3 component and the Mosets plugin successfully, but when I attempt to create and save a new sitemap I get a 500 error.

Is there anything I can do to try and move past this without starting over and upgrading to Joomla 2.5?

solved...
while of course we want an XMAP fix, in the meantime i'm using this sitemap component installed & works!
