category alias with wrong encoding
Hi,
with J!1.5, when using title alias for the category, it becomes part of its articles links.
Although it is built correctly by JRoute, it is NOT encoded correctly in the XML - generating a parse error in Google...

Re:category alias with wrong encoding
easy:
take a category you are showing in one of the menus (blog or table layout). change the category alis to something not in latin encoding (i.e ?????)
check the sitemap generated inside the site - OK
check the XML generated - U'll see some encoding issues.
(google won't read it, but the links work - Joomla understands them)

Here is the spoken sitemap: http://www.ebay-israel-expert.com/index.php?option=com_xmap&sitemap=1&view=xml&no_html=1
Google response is:

I can confirm this issue too.
Check my site (J1.5, Hebrew language):
http://www.i-law.co.il/component/option,com_xmap/lang,en/no_html,1/sitemap,1/view,xml/
Example:

OK,
I got MyBlog component installed on a J!1.0 site.
I created a plugin for XMAP to work with MyBlog, which generates links to bloogrs:
MY_NAME is in a non-Latin language (Hebrew).
the HTML view of the sitemap show the correct links, but the XML cannot be read by Google.
it is the same issue...
I'd say something in the creation of the XML is altering the encoding...

Re:category alias with wrong encoding
OK, I don't know if that fixes all related issues, but it does fix the problems presented at the first silte: www.ebay-israel-expert.com (category alias) & pn the blogger links of MyBlog: www.datecafe.co.il
the fix is just to remove the escaping call in:
component/com_xmap/xmap.xml.php (line 33)
