URLs not generated properly for alias menu items

If you have the core Joomla SEF Urls turned on to require mod_rewrite (with .htaccess) then Alias menu items don't get the proper links generated in the XML sitemap (v1.1 for Joomla 1.5).

Take this example:
2 Menu items. Menu item 1 is called About Us and is an alias to menu item 2. Menu Item 2 is called Vision and is a submenu item of Menu Item 1.

Menu Item 2 has the full url of:
index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=17

Menu Item 1 has the full url of:
index.php?Itemid=31

The Joomla created SEF url for both menu items is:
http://www.example.com/about-us/vision

But for the alias, Xmap is not producing the SEF url for the alias menu item. Instead it is generating a URL which has nothing to do with either menu item:
http://www.example.com/index.php?Itemid=2&option=

It happens to me as well with Xmap 1.1 on Joomla 1.5.2.

The aliased menu item has a wrong url on the sitemap.
You can see it on my test site j1.vertigonet.it/sitemap in the Presentazione link under Chi Siamo.

I also see other problems, two sections (Nuovi prodotti and Tecnologie) are duplicated in the sitemap, I have no idea why.

Just replace the file /components/com_xmap/xmap.php with the one in the attached zip file!

Thank you for your prompt response! The patch seems to generate the right URLs for aliased menu items, but now the submenu items under those alias items aren't being generated.

However, do you have an idea why on my site, in two out of four sections I have, the list of categories is displayed twice in the sitemap?

For instance, I get two entries in the sitemap for the same page "In Primo Piano"
