List all pages title to public

I run a site that has lots of useful information that users need to reister for.

Is there any way to include all pages - even those for registered users - for the general public to see - that way they can see the depth of content without actually having access to the page itself.

i.e. When the (public) user clicks on a link in the site map, they will get a "please log in" page.

Katie,
You can already do that by changing the access level of the articles "registered", but in the menu, make the menu and those menu items "public", making sure that the menu is included in the XMAP menu list. I do that for a number of my special "test" articles, and it works pretty well.

The dilemma for you and your management might be that the menu (and individual menu items) would also be visible to the public on the rest of the site. The SEs would also find and want to crawl those urls, and would encounter the "Please sign in" page when they do, which I handle by making them "inidex, nofollow". Play with some of these options and see what you think.

Thanks for your reply RonnieG, but it doesn't solve my problem.

If I was just creating a menu link to an article I think your solution would work well. My problem is that I am creating a section blog link for hundreds of articles.

When I create a public menu for the private articles it just shows the menu link in Xmap but no articles (because they're not available for public). In my case there are too many (constantly changing) to have a menu for each article.

I hear what you are saying, and after experimenting a bit, I think see the issue.

I set up a small menu with section and category layout pages as menu items. The section and categories were all public, but one category had some articles that were registered. Then I took a look at what Joomla did vs. XMAP. XMAP and Joomla both are not obeying the rule in Article/Component Parameters (at the article global or section or category level) that says "Show Unauthorized Links". I have it set to "Yes" at all levels on my site, but it doesn't seem to work as documented. If the site's webmaster has set that rule to "Yes", at the appropriate levels and/or on specific pages, then Joomla is supposed to also show inks to registered categories in the section pages, and to registered articles in the category pages. However, in my testing, Joomla 1.15.12 didn't seem to do that the way it is supposed to, and still displays "Register to read more...", and XMAP appears to have the same issue. If "Show Unauthorized Links" is "Yes" on the applicable menu items that are section and category pages, then XMAP should also show the links to the all articles in the sitemap, registered or public, but it doesn't.

At least the article title is still displayed on the Category list page, so if the title is good, unregistered users will at least get to see there that it exists, and don't need to click on a link to get the prompt to register. So in addition to your normal menu linking to category blog layout pages, a special unregistered user accessible menu of section list layout and category list layout pages, instead of your normal category blog layouts, with "Show unauthorized links" set to yes for all of those section and category items, could possibly get close to what you are looking for, even without XMAP, and should not affect your normal registered user experience.
