Will XMap work with MSN Live Search and Robot.txt?
Hi,
I was wondering if XMap works with MSN Live Search. I'm getting an error when submitting the sitemap URL to MSN. I haven't disabled the old sitemap (Joomap) because of that.
Google and Yahoo seems OK...
Also Ask.com retrieves the sitemap on robots.txt to have the page indexed. Is it ok to place the XMAP sitemap url on the robot.txt file?
Sample entry on robot.txt:
Sitemap:http://xxxxxxx.com/index.php?option=com_xmap&sitemap=1&view=xml&no_html=1
Thanks!

Hi, yes it is! I have submitted several sitemaps generated with Xmap to live.com
If you are getting an error, please post it here!
Yes, you can add your sitemap to the robots.txt file, please read this thread about ask.com

This solves the problem! :-)
I hope there's no SEO penalty on the sitemap redirection. :-p
Thank you big time!
