How to install plugins?

Hello and thanks for the xmap component!
I have a Joomla! 1.0.15 website - http://www.bar-mitzvah-invitation-wording.com
I have installed com_xmap-1.0.4.
Now I would like to install the virtuemart + weblinks xmap plugins.
Are the plugins mambots or moduels?
Anyway, I have tried to install the weblinks.plugin and also xmap_virtuemart.plugin-1.2 files, both as modules and mambots, but I keep receiving "failed" message.
Any clue? Can you please help?

They are not mambots nor modules, on Xmap 1.0.4 you need to install them manually.
