Some more detail for you. I tracked the problem down to the file:

/administrator/components/com_xmap/ajaxResponse.php

Specifically this block of code (which I've modified):

Code: Select all
                if ( $plugin->id ) {
                        $params = JRequest::getVar('params', '' ,"POST");
                        $itemid = JRequest::getVar('itemid', '-1' ,"POST");
error_log('trying params');
error_log( print_r( $params, 1) );
                        if (is_array( $params )) {
error_log('doing param');

In my error log, "trying params" is logged; the $params variable is null; and the "doing param" line is never executed.

So, thought I although other variables are being passed-in, the "params" array is not making it into the code.

However, I don't see anything wrong in your forms code. Now here is the ULTRA WEIRD PART.

I added this line to admin.js in the saveSettings function:

Code: Select all
alert(theForm.toQueryString());

Not only did the alert show the right string was being generated... but at this point... SAVING MY OPTIONS WORKED!!??

That's right... with no other change besides adding debugging information, suddenly it worked.

Removing the debugging line did not break the code ;)

I don't understand wtf. Previously, it didn't work in Firefox 3 or Epiphany, now it works in both. I am 99.999% positive I didn't actually "fix" anything with these debugging lines, so... ?

Would still love to hear from you in case this rings any bells, but I am going to try the same trick on the production site now :) --Says the guy who once fixed a broken dishwasher by removing an arbitrary spoon.

I am experiencing this error, with the "undefined" popup.

Firefox error console remains blank (Windows and Mac versions).

It does work okay on Safari (Mac), so I haven't bothered with the possible fix above, as my configuration now works.
