1.2 only working in legacy

I have just installed Xmap 1.2 onto a clean install of Joomla 1.5.6 with Virtuemart 1.1.2 installed. The component work perfectly with Legacy Plugin turned on, but with it turned off I am simply getting the template outline with NO content showing.

Is anyone else having this problem or has it arisen with Joomla 1.5.6. I have not tried Xmap on previous versions.

The template I am using is from Joomlashack - Joomla Jamba a free template, just in case it is a template issue.
