Sitemap display is incomplete - Joomla 2.5.1

I'm using Joomla 2.5.1 and I've just installed xmap for the first time ever. I've enabled the plugins and have created a new sitemap, per the instructions in the documentation. The problem is that when I click on the sitemap link in the footer area of my site, two unexpected things happen:

1. The sitemap opens without any of my Joomla template visible, on a plain white page.
2. The sitemap is VERY incomplete. It only shows a few links from the menu which it targets.

The site is in build mode, so it's got a temp url, as follows:

Please advise as to what I can do to correct this issue. Thank you.
