Remove a string from generated map

Hello,

I would like to remove a specific string from the map generated by xmap.

My template is a yootheme one and I can use menu names on two levels with this syntax in the menu name "AAA || BBB".
As a consequence, the generated map keeps the "||". Now I would like to see "AAA BBB" in the xmap.

Do you know how to achieve this ?
