Hide Menu Items in Site Map

I know I can specify a menu item as "Registered" or "Special" and it gets hidden from Xmap, but is there any way of hiding a public menu item from Xmap.

I should allow (or make) club members register on my web site, but until I develop that facility I just want to have a simple password protected set of pages which only members (with the password) can see, but this also means hiding certain menu items in the Site Map.

Any chance or way?
