Custom Blog Category Layout Problems

Hi,

I have a custom blog layout that I am using and xmap can not seem to see or use that menu item type to display a list of articles under the selected category...?

Menu Item type: Custom Blog Layout > created from Category Blog Layout
If I create a second menu item and choose Category list, or Category Blog etc.. it will display but under the incorrect menu alias.

My question is, can I make xmap use the Custom Blog Layout, or is there a way to create a hidden menu item under a secondary menu that will use the same menu alias and display the category items in the sitemap? Can I alter my custom layout to work correctly with xmap or vise-versus, extend xmap to use my custom blog layout?
