Uninstall problem

At some point in migrating to joomla 2.5 I got into trouble with Xmap and changing templates so I tried to uninstall and do a fresh install. No luck.

So I manually uninstalled folders that turned up in error messages and tried re-installing. No luck.

I've tried very carefully twice to manually upload the folders then uninstall as you've suggested in other posts. Still no luck.

I'd love to doc a complete uninstall then reinstall of Xmap but seem to be missing something.
