Exclude specific menu items from XMAP v2.3.2
I try to upgrade a website from joomla 1.5 to 2.5 and therefore used the new xmap component version 2.3 for xml sitemap purposes. In the previous version I was able to edit css and more important I was able to exclude specific menu items.
After installing xmap version 2.3 I noticed that there was no extended configuration possible like in the previous version for Joomla 1.5 and only the main menu items could be included in the sitemap.
Is this expected behaviour or has the xmap component been stripped down in functionality?

Wondering the same thing here. I really need to exclude menu items like in the old days. Thanks, Phil
Edit. This is weird, but works: http://joomla.vargas.co.cr/en/forum?task=viewtopic&f=5&t=3928&p=8829&hilit=exclude#p8829

Thank you philraymond, that is at least one workaround that seems to work for me as well.
I also noticed that these settings are kept in the column 'excluded_items' within the database table 'jos_xmap_sitemap'. Here you can adjust the values to exclude certain menu items. The value reflects the 'id' column value of the 'jos_menu' table and is inserted as stated in the attachment below.
It would be nice to see this functionality back in the administrator backend of Joomla.... Vargas?

This was really helpful - I saw those green ticks but did not understand you could click on them to exclude items.
BTW - The format of the information in code.txt in database table 'jos_xmap_sitemap' has changed for the Joomla 3 version I am using.

Ok, I can exclude items by unticking the green arrow in the XML view.
But in my case, I have lots of articles to exclude. Do I have to exclude one by one? What about new articles? Each time I put a new article, do I have to go and untick it?
I just want it to show the menus, not the articles within'em!
Is it possible? (Joomla 3.0)

@ruidurao, you can select to only should categories by changing the value of "Expand Categories" in the "Xmap - Content Plugin", go to admin->components->Xmap and click on the "Extensions" tab
You could also choose to only include the articles on the XML version of the sitemap.
