Remove trailing slash from root URL

It's only a tiny detail, but I asume there is a solution for it: In my sitemap.xml my domain is listed with a trailing slash. It's like:

www.domain.com/

it should be (because I've optimized everything to it):

www.domain.com

Of course I've got the needed redirects, but if it's possible I want to fix this tiny detail too. Can anybody help me?
