[SOLVED] Google interprets sitemap as HTML

Postby BorderC » Mon Apr 08, 2013 2:03 pm

Hi, I know this issue has been addressed before, but I can't find any solution in the forum. Trying to add my Xmap XML sitemap to my Google Webmaster's Tools account, Google gives me an error, stating that it is in HTML. I have tried everything (creating new sitemaps, even reinstalling Xmap) but nothing seems to help. The queer thing, is that I have Xmap installed and identically configured on several sites, and some work with Google, some don't.

I am running Xmap 2.3.2 on Joomla 2.5.9.

Can anyone help me identifying and solving the issue? Your advise and assistance is much appreciated.

Regards,

Christoffer

Managed to solve this on my own. Turned out to be that the site (frontend) in question was locked by a Joomla staging component called SiteLock. Unlocking the site solved the problem.
