Remove Zoom Thumb Coder on User System (+ voting)

Hello,

I'm using the new 1.5 native version of Zoom.

Is it possible to remove the 'Zoom Thumb Coder' image/link from the User System as it is not relevant for my users?


Also, when a user clicks the stars image to vote nothing happens. It registers the vote, but the user has no indication that this has happened. Also, the same user can vote repeatedly just by clicking repeatedly.

The only way to do that is modifying the source code of the componenent. If you want to do that, I'll help you with the instructions.

Are there any negative consequences of editing the source code? I'm a complete beginner, but if its not too difficult then I would like to do it.

Hi

There are no negative consequences. Please try replacing the following file:
components/com_zoom/www/admin/admin.php
by the attached modified one.

It will make the 'Zoom Thumb Coder' appear only in the backend!

I'm not trying to be pushy, but do you have an idea on when the voting problem will be fixed (like hours, days, or weeks? etc). Its just that I'm trying to tell users a release date for the site, and thats the only thing left to fix before the site goes live.

Hey,

Sorry about this. After a lot of experimenting, it looks like it was conflicting with sh404sef (the search engine friendly urls component). This was even though the sh404sef was set to only try and make sef urls if it found a plugin, and run normally if not.:unsure: But it works now that I've turned off sh404sef.

Hope I didn't waste too much of your time.

I've been searching, but cannot find a sh404sef plugin for Zoom Gallery. Do you know if one exists?

Rigth now I don't know any sh404sef plugin for ZMG. Let me try to find one and I will let you know what I found.
