How to limit the total no of articles displayed
Hi there
This is a super module and does almost exactly what I need it to.
The one thing that I'm trying to figure out how to do is to limit the total number of articles displayed at a time.
I'm using Global News to "showcase" the latest articles on a site. These come from 4 or 5 different sections - but I only want to display 2 new articles at a time in total. These 2 articles can randomly come from any 2 of the included sections.
At the moment, I can select that only one article per section displays - but that results in 4 to 5 articles being displayed all together.
Is there a way to limit the number of articles displayed?
Thanks for any help on this!

Hi!
Please download the module again! We have included one more param to possibly limit the number of Categories or Sections to list, which I think will help you.
You can either re-install it, or replace both mod_globalnews.xml and helper.php.
Thank you!

I have that paramater but its not quite doing what I'd like.
Just like dolphin I want to show the latest items across the whole site. So thats 8 sections selected.
I want to show the latest 5 items, more often than not they all come from the same section, but currently I can only get the latest 1 from the most recently added to sections.
Any ideas?

Re: How to limit the total no of articles displayed
I have a similar request, in that I would like to independently control the number of displayable sections AND the number of articles.
Thus, my site has 3 sections, and sections 1 and 2 have about 10-20 articles in each, while section 3 has a total of 4 articles (I actually posted a screen shot of this in a different bug report thread.
I would like to set a limit of 2 sections, while keeping about 6-8 articles loaded and sliding/scrolling.
===== I just thought of this while writing:
I could do something similar with a COPY of the global news, but I would have to set each to only select from certain sections.
Right now, I don't have to limit the sections per module.
Is there a performance impact running multiple modules?
