Actually I want a article show module, I can define the keyword, if any article can match the keyword, then the article can be shown in the module ....

Hi,
does anyone know where to define the keywords in the module options? There's an option to turn keyword matching on/off, but I don't see a field to define the keywords.

The keywords are the usual article metakeywords! You define them in each article's parameter section.
The metakeywords of the currently displayed article are used for the selection/comparison.
I guess you are looking for a type of "tagging" solution, whats almost the same principle, though you are giving a pre-defined keyword/tag to search for. Maybe you could try a "tagging" extension for your purpose.
BTW, the only FREE extension which use a pre-defined article as the keyword-source is: FJ Related Component
http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/freejo ... +Component
Its a workaround, but usefull if you want to "span" a selection or relation across different categories.

Re: FEATURE REQUEST | Related Items, Keywords
Thanks for your reply.
But a related items was not really what I was looking for...
What I need is the filtered news module, to show only the articles that I set with a meta keyword, for example: IMPORTANT.
Then on the module options I could set the option "match keywords" on. But how can I tell the module that the keyword to match is called IMPORTANT ?
I can't figure out what does the "match keywords" option do, if there's no way to tell what is the keyword to be matched...

Re: FEATURE REQUEST | Related Items, Keywords
I know what you mean, but as far as i know, there is no module with this particular solution (maybe it has to do with the API, and how and when a comparison can be done.)
As i said before... the FilteredNews Module OR any Module does work on an Articles FULL VIEW.
If you view an article (full view with maintext),
and the filteredNews Module is set to show on this article (you will need a menuitem for the category or at least the article itself!)
THAN the module compares the CURRENT articles keywords and the rest of the articles.
Do any Keywords match... the other articles will show up.
In which context or on which page is your module to be shown??? If it is a module, there is something in the maincontent area... maybe this can be replaced! by the selected article in FJ Related Component parameter!?
Alternatives:
FJ Related Component:
You can specify or pre-define keywords for an article. THIS article is used for your selection! Not bad, but it is a menuitem, not a Module. Maybe the developer could add this logic into the FJ related Article Module, too?!?
"Custom Properties":
It has a kind of tagging/label feature, which is seperated from the usual keywords system. But i dont know exactly, if there is a module to show special labeled articles. It works with selectpopups AND labels beneath the article. If you click a label, ALL articles with this label are listed.
JXtended Labels (commercial)
a nice label/tagging extension.

Re: FEATURE REQUEST | Related Items, Keywords
Oh now I see, it matches with the current article, thanks.
I just wanted a module on the frontpage with a slideshow of articles that I tag as important. This module won't do it then.
But thanks anyway, I'll check those extensions, maybe they will be useful even if not exactly the way I intended
