tabs not automatically resizing webpage

Hiya,
I'm loving the simplicity of the tabbed module & was impressed by its functionality however I have one small problem which I was hoping you could help with.

If a user clicks back and they go to a pre-cached page showing the tabbed content. However, the tabbed content does not reset so, as shown in z1.jpg, instead of showing tab 1 by default, it shows tab 2. Now if the user then rolls over tab1, which is bigger, the webpage does not automatically resize to accommodate this (note how z2 overlaps the footer).

Is there a fix around this so everytime the user lands on a tabbed page the tabs modules reset to tab1?
