All child menu items doubled (J1.5/Xmap 1.0.4)
Hi,
I use Xmap 1.0.4 with this configuration:
MySQL: 5.0.15
Datenbank-Kodierung: utf8_general_ci
PHP-Version: 5.2.3
Webserver: Apache
Joomla!-Version: Joomla! 1.5.0 Production/Stable [ Takriban ] 5-October-2007 21:00 GMT
My problem is, that my sitemap shows every child Menuitem twice. I use [url=http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,215367.0.html:25851997]JA Purity 1.1.2[/url:25851997] as site template. I have only one menu (as horizontal topmenu).
Menu structure is like that:
(Category1)Link-CategoryAsBlog
->(Section1)Link-SectionAsBlog
->(Section2)Link-SectionAsBlog
(Category2)Link-CategoryAsBlog
->(Section3)Link-SectionAsBlog
->(Section4)Link-SectionAsBlog
The category is a main item and the section are childs (in the menue)
I hope I could explain it with my poor english :)

All of my content items are doubled also. I'll send you a pm with the link to the sitemap and you can see the issue. You have done a great job with this. I hope you can solve the duplicate issue because I am concerned that will hurt me and others with SEO, especially Google. Thanks!

Hi, I think your problem is because you have a menu with a structure similar to this:
Section
Category 1
Category 2
Category 3
And you have "expand categories" enabled on your sitemap settings. So, Xmap expand the section for the parent menu item and then also expand each sub-menu item (which are the same categories previously showed for the section)
So you can do one of this two actions:
1- Exclude the sub-items categories
2- De-select the option expand content categories
Both of them in the preferences of the sitemap.
Section
Category 1
Category 2

Re:All child menu items doubled (J1.5/Xmap 1.0.4)
Thanks ... that fixed the problem however I guess I have two choices and I'm not sure which would be best for the search engines. One just lists all the menu items and the other expands all the menu items including the titles of all the articles. It would seem to me that the second one would be the best but it "skips" the "2 category" since it doesn't expand it. Is it safe to assume if I use the expanded version the spiders will still find my other content?
Thanks for any suggestions and the great work on this. By the way, a plugin suggestion I would like to see is one for GroupJive. That would be very cool to list all the group categories.

Re:All child menu items doubled (J1.5/Xmap 1.0.4)
Hi, if you have a section item, then it would be expanded with all their categories and contents so you don't need others categories or content menu items from that section. So I suggest the option number 1: "Exclude the sub-items categories"
I hope that answered your question.

Your second suggestion works fine for me.
2- De-select the option expand content categories
Thanks for your help
