author name (user) vs created_by_alias (content)
Hi,
is there any way to show the created_by_alias from #__content table as an author?
On my website, the user is not always the writer of the article, thus i need to show the alias entered on the content item, instead of the user that posted the item. Hope it's possible
thanks

Hi!
It's no problem to add the alias option for the author, but I would like to know what would you expect the module to do whenever the alias is left blank... don't show anything or show the actual author?
Also, I figure you wouldn't be interested in linking the author to CB

Hi, thanks for your reply.
I think if alias is empty, then it shouldn't show anything.
Right now, if I don't include the tag GN_author, it won't show it. I guess is the same for the alias? maybe not.
No, linking to its CB_profile is not desirable, unless i could assign access levels. User profiles on my website are only visible to registered and above.
thanks again

Ok, I have just uploaded the module with the new "author: alias" option.
The edited files are mod_globalnews.xml and helper.php
