Documentation for Wordpress extension module parameters?

Documentation for Wordpress extension module parameters?

Postby colepc » Sat Feb 26, 2011 10:32 pm

Hello,
I've looked but not yet found any documentation for exactly what the Parameters expects for the fields. Can someone point me towards reference information for setting up the Module Parameters for the WordPress extension for Joomla 1.5?

Hi,

Do you have FTP access?

If so, you can take a look at wp-config.php

If not, you will need to get that information from your hosting provider.

i will attempt to find the wp-config.php file as mentioned, however, your reference to "hosting provider" is vague. Are you referring to Wordpress?

Any luck so far?

When you install WordPress, the first thing you are asked for are the database username and password, and a name for your new database.

They are stored en wp-config.php

Did you find out what "hosting provider" means? Is it the nameserver(s) of the hosting provider, the URL of the domain where the database resides... what?? :?:

OK... so I found out what 'WP Database host' means... I typed in 'localhost' and it works! A little bit of fiddling around with passwords etc, but this is a great little extension. :D

Same Question, but with no success!

Took all the parameters from the wp-config.php file directly off the server, but nothing... "Database Error: Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL"

Also changed 'localhost' to 'mysql.deliciousitalyblog.com' and the full extension of the WP Database Prefix.

Any idea?
thanks

The configuration depends on where are your sites are hosted, if both sites are in the same server, probably "localhost" is the best value for 'WP Database host' field. But if not, you will need to enter the IP address or host name of the server that is hosting your WP site. And also, you need to make sure that the user that you are using is allowed to connect from the outside or specifically for the server that is hosting the Joomla site.

The configuration of the permissions depends on which hosting provider are you using, so we won't get into those details, you may need to contact them explaining that you want to allow a MySQL user (probably the same user that you use in your WP site) to connect from the site A (Joomla) to the database of the site B (WP) or something like that.
