Adding Author does not work

Hi there. I am running a J!1.7 and have installed authorlist and hwdvideoshare (and K2)

I have the issue that when I add a new author (the first worked fine) it does not display as a new author, but the Articles by the author increases. In the db all looks normal.

My questions are:

a) is this a known issue in Authorlist
b) do you provide paid services to modify the component to look for videos published in hwdvideoshare instead of joomla articles?

I kept trying and found out that adding a user that has the usergroup "author" does result in the issue, however adding an admin works......

Could you explain the issue you get when adding an author from that usergroup?

I don't see any issue when I do it.

i've the same problem. When i'm trying to add more than 2 authors nothing happends, only the number of written article of the second author increase.
I can add just 1 extra author if is the super user so 2 publisher/editor/whatever + 1 superuser

can you help us?

p.s.

when i add the 2nd author it shows that he/she write an article even if it is not true, it's a brand new user

thank you for your help!
I've found out that the problem is if an author has written at least 1 article. If the new author has 0 articles written everything mess up
but if i assign at least 1 article to every user everything is ok

Ok, I have found and fixed the problem. The component was actually creating every author instance as it should but some of them were not showing because of a wrong database query.

To correct this you can download the current com_authorlist package and install it without uninstalling your old version, so you don't lose your data.

updated the package and everything gone ok!

the only thing is that i'm a moron, and i didn't make a backup of the previous blog.php. I want to show the image also on the authors list but the so i've added this to the blog.php:

<img src="<?php echo $this->author->image;?>" style="float:left; margin-right:10px;" alt="" />
</td>

unfortunatelly it's not working...any ideas?

the file is not blog.php but /com_authorlist/views/authors/tmpl/default.php
