Change the order of items

Is it possible to change the order that items are listed in? For example I have a category called Games. On my site the menu is configured to list the games alphabetically but on the Sitemap they are listed in order of most recent (I think). I would like them to be in the same order as the category menu.

Hi, some Xmap 1.1 extensions has this option available. Which version of Xmap are you using?

This Games category, is it a joomla content category or is a category of some component?

I am using Xmap 1.1.

The categories I am referring to are just ordinary Joomla categories.

Hi, I think I have found the problem, please try with the attached file, unzip it and replace your file: /administrator/components/com_xmap/extensions/com_content.php with the attached one.

Please let me know if it fixes your issue.

I appreciate your quick response and the solution you produced. Your file has fixed the issue - just about! All my games are in alphabetical order now, thank you very much.

However, the other thing I have noticed is that many content items are repeated. For example, I have a section called Teaching and within it are the categories Primary and Secondary. In the site map it lists all the Teaching items in what seems a random order and then the same items again in their categories, in the correct order. Is there a way to only show the content items once?

It is also interesting that ALL my content items are shown the first time and then in the categories only the public items are shown. I have a subscription site and I would like the public o see all the content so that they can see what they wopuld get if they subscribed.

Hi, about the repeated items, the only thing you can do right know is disable the expand sections option, but this will affect all the sections menu items on all your menus.

To show your restricted items, you should enable it in joomla's global configuration. There is one option to list restricted content items and Xmap will automatically show they as well.

Where do you disable the expand sections? I could not find this.

Also I could not find an option to enable showing restricted items in Joomla's global configuration. Is it in Joomla 1 or 1.5?
