Cannot install 3rd party plugin (Ads Manager) - How?

Joomla 1.7.5
Xmap 2.2.1
Ads Manager 2.6.5

I am trying to install the latest plugin for Ads Manager (xmap_adsmanager_plugin.zip) - I used the installation manual on this site: http://joomla.vargas.co.cr/en/documentation/27-xmap/36-howto-install-xmap-extenions

My problem: When I click on "Extensions" within Xmap, I am forwarded to the regular Joomla plugin extension page, which is prefiltered with the Xmap plugins only. See here:

That means, there is no separate "Xmap plugin installer". I can use only the Joomla extension installer. And this one doesnt work, I am getting this error message:
Unable to detect manifest file
Error installing COM_INSTALLER_TYPE_TYPE_XMAP_EXT

How can I install 3rd party plugins on Xmap?

it run well in : Joomla 1.7.x , Joomla 2.5.x, xmap 2.0, xmap 2.2.x , adsmanager 2.6.x
