No Admin Menu Item created

Hi

I've installed and reinstalled Xmap about a dozen times, cleaned the database, cleaned any remaining files on the server but I still get the following error every time :

JTableMenu: :_getNode Failed -
Error building Admin Menus

With no Menu item in the admin table available. I even turned off akeebabackuppro and its plugins but nothing appears to help.

Can you? I would be grateful.

My site is Joomla 2.5.4 and everything is brand new and up to date
