Feature request: "Read More" on Archives page

Feature request: "Read More" on Archives page

Postby K3Gary » Tue Apr 09, 2013 6:54 pm

I'm working on a university website: http://www.wau.edu/ I like the way the "Read More" link is automatically put in after a few lines. When I click on the "News Archive" link at the bottom, the next page displays the full articles. Is it possible for the next page to only display a few lines, and then a "Read More" link, like it does on the home page?

Thanks!

Hi,

You can use another instance of the module on that page and change it's Menu Item Type. I see that currently it is the Articles -> Category Blog type.

You could create a new article, load the module in that article, change the Menu Item to Articles -> Single Article and choose the new article from the options.

To load the module in the article just use the {loadposition someposition} syntax, where someposition is the position you assign to the new instance of the module.

Hi Chus, thanks for the help.

I don't find Archives in the menu. The link, "News Archive", seems to be controlled by the module, since when I turn the module off, the link disappears.

Can you help me change the Menu Item to Articles -> Single Article? If I can find it in the Menu Manager, I can change it.

Thanks,

Gary

That link doesn't come from the module, it looks like a custom module underneath mod_featcats, or like someone edited the module layout.

But maybe you should look for a menu item with the "latest-news" slug.
I think that's the one you need to change to the Articles -> Single Article type.

There's no menu item with the "latest-news" slug.

What do you suggest I try next?
