Extra Vote not only provides the AJAX power to your Joomla 1.5 content rating dynamic, but it allows you to insert those beautiful voting stars anywhere else inside of your articles so your users can rate specific parts of them.

The code for this feature is simple as {extravote #}, but instead of # you need to write 1, 2, 3, etc, in order to identify each part of your content you want to submit for a users rating. So if you want to get votes on Expedia or Orbitz promotion code for example.

In the plugin setup, you can disable this function in case you just want to use Extra Vote for improving your core voting system, and you will also find the option to display the stars units after the content rather than after the title.

Maybe you don't like seeing (0 Votes) on unrated items, so we have included one more parameter to Hide or Show this information when that is the case.

    Hi, thanks for your input to the community!

    I think Extra vote could be the component to use for customizing a bit...

    I hope guys you can help.
    I have to allow registered users to vote for some images.
    Can I do that by hiding the vote system if the users are not subscribed?

    I want registered users cannot vote more then one time per item... (check of the
    IP ?)

    Finally, I don't want the stars, but just another simbol (like a check button)
    and to hide the vote to other users...
    How to do that?

    Can you do this plugin more advanced? So we can add custom rating types like
    "Thumbs up,Thumbs Down" or "Hot or Not" or
    "Good,Neutral,Bad"... by extending the mambot word with
    "{thumbs},{hotornot},{mood}" etc.

    Also it will be really nice if you do the "Hurt & Heal".An item witch
    will start with 100 health points and when someone hits "Hurt" it will
    take 1 health point from the item,so it will have 99HP.And if someone hits
    "Heal" then it will add 1HP and the item will have 100 HP again.That
    should be called with the mambot word "{hurtandheal}" or something...
    ;)

    If you make all this you will have the most advanced rating system for joomla
    ever made.All the others just make a simple star rating and all are almost the
    same.

    It would be also very nice to have a most rated or Top 10 module, if it is
    somehow feasible. But it should be possible to read out the database.

    Hi,
    I would like to add extravote to VirtueMart products description fields like
    this:

    Performance {extravote 5}
    Fiability {extravote 6}

    It does not work. I might add that other content plugins are working on my
    J1.5.6 VM 1.1.2 installation.

    Am I missing something?

    So far extravote doesn't work in tabs generated with Gavick Tabs
    I get "Content... {extravote 14} ...}, no stars to rate :( . Joomla 1.5

    i want to know that is it possible to display the rating along side the article
    title (Without going into article it self)

    Looks great, but would be fantastic if could be integrated with a comment
    system...

    I'd like to rate an artikle in 3 different categories - where the stars are
    perfect. But I would also like to leave comments with every rating showing...
    (such as the rating system above with thumbs up/down)..

    Hi I want to know how I can disable the default joomla rating system and replace
    it with the extra vote system. I tried disabling the default but then the extra
    vote doesn´t work, and when it is enabled I can only vote in the default system.
    If I try to vote in extra vote it says that i have already voted in this item.
    I´m getting crazy here. can anyone help? many thx!

    I want to first of all say that this is really a nice plugin. the only thing
    that bothers is its inability to convert the extravote icons (STARS) into PDF
    when PDF conversion is selected from Joomla instead the {extravote #} appears in
    the converted PDF.
    So please treat this comment as a feature request.
