Free extensions for Joomla!

The category list layout on a charity site that I look after has suddenly decided to give an error with extravote.php

Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /home/chamberm/public_html/funinaction.org.uk/plugins/content/extravote.php on line 49

If you click on the News menu item on the main menu, you'll see what I mean. This is J1.5.10 and all I've done is update JoomlaPack to version 2.2, which I don't believe could cause this?!

I've tried making a new menu item as a category list layout, but whatever category I point it at, I still get this error.

I'm not a programmer, so I can't track down this error myself... can you offer any help please?
