cannot acces mysql after insalling xmap

Database connection error (2): Could not connect to MySQL.
i installed xmap on one of my sites and now all sites on that server have crashed with the above error.
my desktop virus checker alterted me to a threat in the zip file....
can anyone please help me..... all of my sites are down.
