There was a problem loading image

There was a problem loading image <image name>in mod_featcats

I get this error for certain images that are in this folder? Is there any way to see what the actual problem is? I know that the images exist.

examples

There was a problem loading image discohelmut_disco_lemonade.jpgin mod_featcats
There was a problem loading image spindjfalcon_get_funk_house_out_of_here_2.jpgin mod_featcats

Thanks,
Aaron

Hi,

Is there anything the problem images have in common that can give a us a clue on what is going on?

Cheers!

I just got in... let me check what the *common* thing is between this error images. But while we do that, shouldn't you list the reasons why your module would write that? You are capturing the error and presenting the message to the user... it would help if you tell us the reasons why that message would be triggered and then I can see where I should look.

I have no idea Chris... if you want to look @ http://alterego-of-pwi.info you can see the "pwi news" area I'm trying to create on the new site http://j3.alterego-of-pwi.info
everything on the new site MUST be responsive and fully J! 3.x
in all fairness I've tried dozens of modules and none do everything perfectly.
the other area I need to reproduce is the news slider in the very top middle of the old site.
both take info from articles just they display them differently.

Hey guys!

Did some investigation and I can't see or think of what the problem can be. I've attached 3 pictures (was going to add 4 or 5) but it's easy enough just from these 3 to see that *there is something strange* going on. I'm not saying it is a problem with the module, but it might be.

findings

1) I got the details of the image and that is represented in Capture.png. I've circled 2x paths in that picture. Don't look at those as they are on my local machine. I got the properties of the image after downloading it to my local pc.

2) This is the error again of an image that doesn't seem to have any problems when called in anything other than mod_featured_cat. You can see this in Capture2.png

3) Shows how the file in question is actually in the folder where it is expected along with the other images that are not having any problems. This is detailed in Capture3.png

There are only about 5 articles in the category that I have included in the query. Those other 4 images are always shown without the error. Hope this information can help us all. ;-)

The only reason for that message to appear should be that the module is not building the path correctly. This doesn't seem to be the case since the other images in the same folder are not having any problem.

I noticed that the problem image is the only one containing a capital letter in it's name. Have you tried changing the name.
By the way, are you using Joomla 3.0 as well?

Wow - great thinking!

That is the problem. I'm almost positive that is the problem. Let me check, but I believe that the file has a capital, but it is listed in the Joomla article without a capital, thus not being able to build the path.

I know why others are missing it too... because the GUI we put the images doesn't care about CASE, however for me I am on a UNIX system which does care about CASE. Let me test that quickly and get back to the group.

I can confirm that this was the problem for me. Let me now show you the screen that features this article with the proper CASE to the path/file/image.

Thanks so much gang! If anyone needs any help, let me know.
